1)       select a temple : artemis at ephesus

2)       get basic details of temple:

 dates, 1^st :7^th century Bc 2^nd time : 550 BC, #rd : 323 Bc

possible size,  450 ft long by 225ft wide with 60 ft high with 127 columns

sculptures associated with temple, the statue of Artemis

find existing photo of ruin,

 establish proportions and sizes where you can.

3)       research coins associated / describing temple (one or two do not have a coin)

4)       research primary ancient sources on temple: Pausanias

5)       research other temples of that period: Temple of Diana

6)       rough draft your temple

a.          indicate the model scale (1:10 or 1:100 you decide)

b.         key features: steps, columns, capitol type, see textbook for detail.
